Having grown up the son of a pastor in Nicaragua, Oscar was raised in the ministry.  He helped his dad plant many churches and was preaching by the time he reached 13 years of age.  After Oscar graduated from Bible college, Time to Discern International was officially established to reach rural villages in Mexico.  Since then, the Lord has opened up doors in other countries where Oscar teaches pastors and church leaders. He also speaks at mission conferences, revivals and youth camps in the U.S.  Recently doors have opened for Oscar to preach on university campuses both nationaly and internationally.  In between trips, Oscar is writing his dissertation for a reasearch degree as well as updating Bible school curriculum.  Besides his passion for preaching the Gospel, Oscar likes to play basketball, bass guitar, and eat good food.

Also having grown up as a preacher's kid in Maryland, Sharmayne feels right at home working in the ministry.  She not only organizes Oscar's schedule, but manages the day-to-day events on the mission field,  works with youth, plays on the worship team, and coordinates the helps ministries.  After marrying Oscar and living in Mexico for only a few months, Sharmayne felt the need to attend medical school in order to better serve the people around them.  She now runs a mobile medical clinic that offers free check-ups and medicine to those in poverty stricken areas.  She is also finishing a research degree while juggling her numerous other duties.   When not counseling a patient or studying for a test, Sharmayne likes playing tennis, hiking, surfing, practicing the guitar, and hanging out with her friends and family.

He may be the youngest member of the team, but Kobe doesn't let that stop him from running the show...or at least trying to.   At six years of age, he has already traveled to several continents and has an opinion about which airline is best and what he wants to eat when he arrives in a new country (usually rice)!  Kobe helps with the kids' ministry and likes to help his mom in the clinic.  He loves playing with his toy trains, doing school work- especially math, and running around outside with other children.

It's a very different atmosphere coming to the Mexican border from Washington state but Jenna now calls this year round-hot and-humid-climate home.  Free-spirited and always ready to travel, Jenna has been a big blessing to the ministry.  She helps Sharmayne with her research, office management, homeschooling Kobe, typing, taking pictures...just a few of the activities that fill her day.  Jenna is currently finishing a degree in Biblical studies and is developing into a quite a good medical assistant intern. Besides her intense love for coffee, Jenna enjoys reading, going to the beach, and spending time with her sister.
